I noticed that somebody began a sort of hierarchal list. I think the best thing to do there is to relegate that hierarchy to the pages themselves and keep the main page less cluttered. Hypodermia 04:49, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

This is precisely the info i want to go into the Help:Manual page.

also the idea was each category to have a brief, brief little appelation
so we could easily categorize pages and remember their names.  even
if we make the links to those categories more descriptive. like on the
main page, i might change Legal blah blah blah to just
[[:Category:Legal|Legal resources, lawyers, etc]]
so the link READS "Legal resources, lawyers, etc" but it links to Category:Legal. Category reform

In the near future, some categories are going to get ruthlessly simplified, collapsed, and merged. Categories are going to cross relatively broad swaths. Medical, Legal, Financial, Appearance, and the various regions. More specific categories might exist, but their existence is mostly covered by pages.
